How it Works
The most common contributors to dark spots come from two unavoidable factors; Aging and exposure to UV Radiation. A significant contributor to the shading in Age spots is the formation of a pigment called lipofuscin. Over time, proteins can be damaged and inactivated by oxidative process and various stresses. The damaged proteins accumulate on the surface of the skin cells in a dark lipid residue. We use an ingredient called Oleuropin, derived from olive leaves, to help prevent the formation of Lipofuscin and reduce the appearance of age spots. Oleuropin is a powerful antioxidant, which enhances the cell’s proteolysis action. Proteolysis is a natural chemical reaction that occurs within cells in order to degrade inactive or damaged proteins. Melanin is another form of pigment found in dark spots. It is naturally produced by the skin in order to protect sensitive DNA from the harmful and damaging UV rays of the sun. Usually the tanned area will fade, but sometimes batches of color remain as unsightly dark spots. To inhibit Melanin production we use Vitamin C and Daisy plant extract. These two excellent ingredients work by inhibiting the production of Tyrosinase in skin cells. Tyrosinase is an enzyme that catalyzes the production of Melanin in the skin. Vitamin C is also a well knows antioxidant that helps fight free radicals and improve collagen synthesis. To accelerate the skins absorption of Vitamin C, and to propel its effectiveness, we use Zinc PCA. Zinc PCA is the zinc salt of pyrrolidonic carboxylic acid and facilitates the transport of Vitamin C in skin cells, boosting the tyrosinase inhibiting activity of Vitamin C. Don’t rely on make-up or cover up jobs to hide dark spots. Those are superficial results. Now you can target the problem with a clever product that uses scientifically proven actives that work on.
